What figma-design-to-code does

The skill lays out the workflow: retrieve a node’s context with get_design_context, then adapt its reference React code to the project’s language, framework, and styling conventions. Check existing components and design tokens before writing code. Code Connect snippets take priority over component docs and design annotations.

Use Figma’s exported assets for images and icons. For committed code, download the exact asset and keep it in the project; the remote asset URL expires in about 7 days. That affects how you should handle assets before committing.

This skill covers reading from Figma, not writing designs to it. If get_design_context fails, read the error message; after a timeout, retry with a smaller node. A file URL without node-id needs a node-specific link.
