What fieldtheory-cli-bookmarks does

The skill gives an agent access to ft commands for updating a local bookmark collection, searching post text, filtering by author or category, and opening individual entries. Classification can use an LLM or regex rules. By default, the CLI keeps its files in ~/.ft-bookmarks/; set FT_DATA_DIR to use another location.

The CLI requires Node.js 20+. Chrome-based sync also needs Google Chrome signed in to X/Twitter, and that mode is listed for macOS. Linux and Windows use OAuth instead. Install the CLI with npm install -g fieldtheory, then run ft sync. OAuth setup uses ft auth followed by ft sync --api; LLM-based classification requires access to an LLM.

What it helps with

  • sync new X/Twitter bookmarks to local storage
  • search saved posts by topic or text
  • filter bookmarks by author, category, or date
  • classify saved posts with an LLM or regex
  • inspect bookmark counts by topic and author

Example prompts for the agent

  • Sync my new X bookmarks and find posts about Rust.
  • Search my bookmarks for distributed systems and summarize the results.
  • List my research bookmarks from 2025.
