clojure-review — Claude Code skill: what it does, how to install
Reviews Clojure and ClojureScript code against Metabase engineering guidelines and flags styling mistakes in diffs.
npx skills add metabase/metabase --skill clojure-review -a claude-codeWhat clojure-review does
The skill monitors *.clj, *.cljc, and *.cljs files during code reviews. It inspects diffs using Read, Grep, Bash, and Glob against the Metabase style guide, as well as the community Clojure style guide whenever CLOJURE_STYLE_GUIDE.adoc is present.
Its checklist covers pure function naming, docstring standards, Malli schema coverage, test isolation, and Toucan database operations. Review output deliberately omits compliments or approval comments. Syntax issues like missing parentheses are skipped because standard linters handle them.
Rules enforce Metabase architectural patterns such as MBQL 5 and specific module naming. Projects outside the Metabase ecosystem will trigger false violations around these backend conventions.
What it helps with
- flag side-effect functions missing the exclamation mark suffix
- verify docstrings and author tags on TODO comments
- detect missing response schemas on REST API endpoints
- identify public functions that should be marked private
Example prompts for the agent
- Review Clojure diff for style violations
- Inspect changed *.clj files against the Metabase guidelines
