threejs-animation · calesthio — Claude Code skill: animation and setup
This skill helps an agent build Three.js motion with keyframes, bones, morph targets, and clip blending. Use it for procedural motion or GLTF playback.
npx skills add calesthio/OpenMontage --skill threejs-animation -a claude-codeWhat threejs-animation does
threejs-animation covers the Three.js animation model built around AnimationClip, AnimationMixer, and AnimationAction. It includes procedural movement and keyframe tracks for numbers, vectors, quaternions, colors, visibility, and morph targets. Playback examples cover starting, stopping, pausing, timing, weights, loop modes, clamping, and transitions between clips.
The material shows how to load GLTF animations with GLTFLoader, find a clip by name, and update a mixer inside the render loop. It also covers skeleton inspection, bone changes, SkeletonHelper, and attaching an object to a bone. The examples use three; GLTF scenes use GLTFLoader.
mixer.update(delta) is required inside the animation loop for a clip to advance. Check that part of the render loop before tuning an action or a blend.
What it helps with
- play an animation from a GLTF file
- build object motion from keyframe tracks
- crossfade between two animation clips
- inspect bones and attach an object to a skeleton
- create procedural mesh movement
Example prompts for the agent
- Use the `threejs-animation` skill to add procedural object motion with `AnimationMixer`.
- With `threejs-animation`, load `model.glb`, find the `Walk` clip, and play it in the render loop.
- Explain how to use `AnimationAction` for a smooth transition between two Three.js animations.

Questions about threejs-animation
How do I install `threejs-animation` in Claude Code?
Run npx skills add calesthio/OpenMontage --skill threejs-animation -a claude-code, then run npx skills add calesthio/OpenMontage --skill threejs-animation -a claude-code again and check ~/.claude/skills/threejs-animation/SKILL.md.
What does `threejs-animation` do?
The skill helps with Three.js animation work, including keyframes, procedural motion, GLTF clips, skeletal animation, and blending actions.
What is required for a clip to keep playing?
After creating an AnimationMixer, update it with mixer.update(delta) inside the animation loop. GLTF loading uses GLTFLoader.
