c-voice — Claude Code skill: speech-to-text and spoken replies
Gives the agent two voice tools: transcription through sag and text-to-speech through the macOS say command.
npx skills add daxaur/openpaw --skill c-voice -a claude-codeWhat c-voice does
The skill wires two command-line tools into the agent's toolbox. sag handles speech recognition on top of ElevenLabs: hand it a file or a microphone capture and it returns a transcript. Input can be MP3, WAV, M4A or FLAC, and a language hint is available as a flag.
say comes with macOS and does the opposite job. It speaks text out loud, can write the audio to a file, and lets you pick a voice or speaking rate. The skill suggests Samantha or Alex when you want output that sounds natural.
Nothing to install for say. sag is a different story: without a working ElevenLabs API key in your environment it will not run, so sort the key out first. The whole thing assumes macOS — on Linux or Windows the speech half of the skill does nothing.
What it helps with
- turn a meeting recording into readable text
- capture microphone input and get a transcript
- read a finished report out loud
- save synthesized speech to an audio file
- switch to another voice or speaking rate
Example prompts for the agent
- Transcribe
recording.mp3withsagand show me the text - Record from the mic and save the transcript to
transcript.txt - Read the final report aloud using the Samantha voice

Questions about c-voice
How do I install c-voice in Claude Code?

It transcribes audio to text with sag, which is powered by ElevenLabs, and speaks text back using the macOS say command.
What do I need before using c-voice?
sag needs a valid ElevenLabs API key set in your environment. say ships with macOS, so there is nothing to install for it.

--- name: c-voice description: Convert speech to text using `sag` (ElevenLabs STT) and synthesize speech using `say` (macOS built-in TTS). Enables voice input transcription and audio output. tags: [voice, speech, tts, stt, elevenlabs, say, sag, audio] --- ## What This Skill Does Enables Claude to transcribe spoken audio to text via `sag` (powered by ElevenLabs) and to speak text aloud using the macOS `say` command. ## Available CLI Tools ### `sag` — Speech-to-Text (ElevenLabs) ```bash # Transcribe an audio file sag transcribe --file recording.mp3 # Record from microphone and transcribe sag record --output transcript.txt # Transcribe with a specific language hint sag transcribe --file audio.wav --language en # Output transcript to stdout sag transcribe --file audio.m4a --stdout ``` ### `say` — Text-to-Speech (macOS built-in) ```bash # Speak text aloud say "Hello, how can I help you today?" # Use a specific voice say -v Samantha "Your report is ready." # Save spoken audio to a file say -o output.aiff "Text to synthesize" # List available voices say -v ? # Control speaking rate (words per minute) say -r 180 "Speaking at a custom rate" ``` ## Usage Guidelines - Use `sag` to process audio files the user provides or to capture mic input - Use `say` to read back responses, summaries, or alerts aloud - Prefer `say -v Samantha` or `-v Alex` for natural-sounding output on macOS ## Notes - `sag` requires a valid ElevenLabs API key configured in environment - `say` is built into macOS — no installation needed - Supported audio input formats for `sag`: MP3, WAV, M4A, FLAC
