What cfo-advisor does

The skill covers seven work areas: financial baseline, unit economics, a three-year model, investor reporting, cash management, month-end close, and risk review. Formulas for CAC, LTV, Burn Multiple, and Rule of 40 are built in, along with a Monthly Metrics Package template and a board deck outline.

Before it builds anything, the skill asks about stage, current numbers, and the goal — fundraising, board review, or internal planning. If you want a result right away, it works from assumptions and lists them at the top. That matters when the data is thin but the deadline is not.

Benchmarks are embedded, so metrics outside normal ranges get flagged during the run. The quality checklist for month-end close covers bank reconciliation, revenue recognition, deferred revenue, and flux analysis. Without recent ARR, cash balance, and headcount, the runway math is meaningless, so the skill requests those inputs first.

What it helps with

  • build a three-year financial model from Revenue Build and Expense Build structures
  • calculate CAC, LTV, NRR, and Burn Multiple with built-in formulas
  • assemble a Monthly Metrics Package for investors
  • outline a board financial presentation
  • create a 13-week cash flow forecast

Example prompts for the agent

  • Build a three-year SaaS model: $3M ARR, 35 employees, preparing for Series B
  • Calculate unit economics and flag any metric outside benchmark ranges
  • Set up the Monthly Metrics Package for our next board review

What does cfo-advisor do?

It acts as a fractional CFO: builds financial models, computes unit economics, prepares investor reports, and helps manage cash. It leans on SaaS benchmarks and GAAP standards.

What data does it need before starting?

ARR, net burn, cash balance, headcount, and the as-of date. Runway and Burn Multiple depend on recent figures, so the skill asks for these inputs first.
