hr-business-partner — Claude Code skill: HR plans and ER cases
A skill that runs HR business partnering inside your agent: workforce plans, calibration sessions and employee relations cases.
npx skills add borghei/Claude-Skills --skill hr-business-partner -a claude-codeWhat hr-business-partner does
The skill turns the agent into an HR business partner. It walks through a six-step workflow: diagnose the business need, assess the current state, build the people plan, execute and advise, measure KPIs, then iterate. Each step comes with templates and tables rather than loose advice.
Included are people metrics with formulas and reference ranges — voluntary and regrettable turnover, time to fill, eNPS, compa-ratio — plus a workforce planning template covering gap analysis, hiring plan, succession depth and a risk register. Performance management is laid out by quarter, with a calibration guide that flags outlier rating distributions and asks for behavioural evidence. Employee relations cases follow a five-step resolution framework, and hard conversations use the SBI-E structure.
The skill asks for the inputs that matter before generating anything: business priority for the next 1-4 quarters, the type of request, headcount data and the budget envelope. If something is missing and would change the result, it asks; otherwise it states the assumption it used. One thing to check yourself: attrition data has to separate voluntary from involuntary exits before planning, or the gap analysis will be off.
What it helps with
- build a department workforce plan with gap analysis
- run a calibration session and reconcile manager ratings
- work through an employee relations case step by step
- prepare talking points for a difficult conversation
- calculate turnover, eNPS and compa-ratio from the given formulas
Example prompts for the agent
- Build a workforce plan for the engineering department for next year, headcount data attached
- Help me run calibration — one team has 45% top-tier ratings
- Walk through this case: an employee reports a conflict with their manager
