The plugin adds an interactive canvas for Jupyter notebooks to GitHub Copilot. You can create a notebook, edit cells, run the code, save the file and set a checkpoint, all from the same place. No browser tab with jupyter lab in the middle.

Install takes one command: copilot plugin install jupyter-notebooks@awesome-copilot. The plugin ships under the MIT license as part of the Awesome Copilot collection, written by Pierce Boggan.

Checkpoints are the part worth knowing about. Set one before you touch a cell that runs a long calculation, and you have a state to come back to when the numbers go sideways. If your notebook work already lives in a browser session you are happy with, this plugin adds little.
