Three tools ship with the server. get_time_series pulls history for one keyword on one source. get_growth returns percent change across windows from 7 days to 5 years. get_top_trends answers what is ranking on a platform right now and takes no keyword at all. Where the pipeline supports it, values are normalized to a 0–100 scale.
It runs as a hosted MCP at https://tiktok.api.trendsmcp.ai/mcp. No per-platform keys, and no scraping on your side. A free key comes with a monthly request cap. For hosts without native HTTP, the repo includes a stdio adapter: pip install -e ., then python -m trends_mcp_server with TRENDSMCP_API_KEY set.
Client configs are not interchangeable. Windsurf expects serverUrl rather than Cursor's url plus transport. Cline wants the type spelled exactly streamableHttp. The www.trendsmcp.ai/mcp connector path authenticates over OAuth, so a Bearer key does not belong in that config.
