three.ws Marketplace — Claude Code MCP server: browse agents
Lets an AI agent search the public three.ws catalog: agents and skills, paged and filtered. Read-only, so nothing gets published.
claude mcp add --env THREE_WS_BASE=<THREE_WS_BASE> --env THREE_WS_TIMEOUT_MS=<THREE_WS_TIMEOUT_MS> --transport stdio marketplace-mcp -- npx -y @three-ws/marketplace-mcpWhat three.ws Marketplace does
The server runs over stdio and talks to the public /api/marketplace and /api/skills endpoints on https://three.ws. No API key, no signer, no payment: every tool only reads. Publishing agents and skills happens through a separate authenticated path on the HTTP API.
Five tools. browse_agents searches agents with category and query filters, a sort order and cursor paging. agent_detail pulls one agent by UUID, including its system prompt, capabilities, author, ratings and skill prices. agent_categories lists categories with counts. The skills side has browse_skills and skill_categories. A search returns items plus a next_cursor; send it back as cursor for the next page.
You need Node.js 20 or later and network access to https://three.ws. THREE_WS_BASE points the server at a different host, THREE_WS_TIMEOUT_MS sets the request timeout. On an older Node the server won't start, so check the version first.
What it helps with
- find an agent that fits a task by searching the catalog
- inspect an agent's system prompt and skill prices by UUID
- see how many published agents each category holds
- page through the skills catalog with a sort order
- pick skills by category and query text
Example prompts for the agent
- Search the three.ws marketplace for code review agents, sort by top rated, show the first three.
- Open the agent card for id
a1b2c3d4-…from those results. - List the skill categories and how many skills each one has.
