super-trouper — Claude Code MCP server: Frida tools for agents
An MCP server that hands your coding agent Frida's toolkit: device connections, process sessions and JavaScript instrumentation scripts.
claude mcp add super-trouper -- npx -y @crissyfield/super-trouperWhat super-trouper does
Super Trouper speaks MCP over STDIO and turns Frida's capabilities into tools an agent can call. Those tools cover local, USB and remote devices, listing installed apps and running processes, managing sessions, and loading or evaluating instrumentation scripts written in JavaScript and TypeScript. A second group searches Frida CodeShare, lists popular projects there and pulls a project's source so the scripting tools can run it.
Handles keep things tidy. A device connection, a session or a script is referenced by an opaque handle returned when you create it, and reconnecting to the same device gives you the existing handle back. The whole thing ships as a single Go binary, statically linked against Frida Core DevKit v17.23.3, so no Python, Node or Frida CLI is needed on your host. Prebuilt binaries exist for macOS and Linux, with Docker, Homebrew and npm as install routes.
Building from source is the one path with prerequisites: grab a Frida Core DevKit for your build host and point CGO_CFLAGS and CGO_LDFLAGS at it, or the build fails. The npm package avoids that — the platform binary arrives as an optional dependency.
What it helps with
- connect to a device and list its processes
- find an app by identifier or name
- load a Frida script and evaluate it inside a target
- search Frida CodeShare for a community script
- spawn a process suspended and resume it later
Example prompts for the agent
- Connect to the device through super-trouper and list the running processes.
- Find a Frida CodeShare script that hooks network calls and load it into the app.
- Spawn the app suspended, then resume it when I say so.

Questions about super-trouper
How do I install super-trouper in Claude Code?
Run claude mcp add super-trouper -- npx -y @crissyfield/super-trouper. That registers the server in your MCP config and the agent picks up its tools.
What does super-trouper do?
It exposes Frida as MCP tools: connecting to devices, finding apps, managing sessions and running instrumentation scripts. It also searches and fetches scripts from Frida CodeShare.
Do I need Python or the Frida CLI installed?
No. Super Trouper is one Go binary with Frida Core DevKit v17.23.3 linked in statically. Only a from-source build needs the DevKit plus CGO_CFLAGS and CGO_LDFLAGS.
