Stuga — Claude Code MCP server: what it does, how to install
Connects your coding agent to a self-hosted team wiki where AI edits wait for human review before going live.
claude mcp add --env STUGA_URL=<STUGA_URL> --transport stdio stuga -- npx -y @stuga/mcpWhat Stuga does
This server bridges MCP clients with your team wiki of rich-text pages and typed tables. Your assistant extracts points from meetings or messages, inserts facts into matching sections, and answers queries citing approved sources.
Safety depends on review stages: changes wait for a colleague or apply right away. Agents only update text or table entries. They cannot rename, delete, move folders, or change permission rules.
You need a running Stuga node on macOS 15+ (Apple silicon) or a Docker host with Postgres. The MCP bridge fails if the node instance address is unreachable.
What it helps with
- maintain a self-hosted team wiki using AI assistants
- verify agent changes through change cards before publishing
- query internal documentation with source citations and access checks
- detect stale documents and broken links across workspace pages
Example prompts for the agent
- Save these meeting notes to Stuga and update the relevant pages
- Ask Stuga what the current incident response policy is
- Run a check on Stuga to find dead links and orphan pages

Questions about Stuga
How to install Stuga in Claude Code?
Run claude mcp add --env STUGA_URL=<STUGA_URL> --transport stdio stuga -- npx -y @stuga/mcp, replacing <STUGA_URL> with your node address.
What does Stuga do?
It connects assistants to your private workspace, allowing models to draft documentation and answer questions while keeping all revisions behind an approval queue.
Can an AI agent delete or reconfigure wiki pages?
No, agents are restricted to document and table content. Structural operations like deleting, renaming, and permissions management remain strictly manual.
