mcp · sota-deploy — sota.io MCP server: what it does, how to install
Deploys web apps to sota.io PaaS with a single agent prompt. Manages environment variables, custom domains, and version rollbacks.
claude mcp add --transport http mcp https://mcp.sota.io/mcpWhat mcp does
The server ships deployment tools: packages a directory into an archive, uploads to sota.io, streams build and runtime logs, updates environment variables, rolls back versions. Handles custom domains — adds them, checks DNS status, removes. Manages projects: creates, deletes, lists.
Two transports available. For Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf and other IDEs — stdio via npx -y @sota-io/mcp, requires SOTA_API_KEY from the sota.io dashboard. For Claude Desktop and Claude.ai web, the hosted endpoint at mcp.sota.io is simpler — OAuth replaces the key, sign-up happens in chat via the create_account tool. The stdio transport won't start without an API key.
What it helps with
- deploy an app from the current directory with one command
- check build logs after deployment
- roll back a project to the previous version without rebuilding
- set an environment variable without opening the dashboard
- attach a custom domain to a project
Example prompts for the agent
- Deploy the app in this directory to sota.io
- Show build logs for the latest deployment of project

Questions about mcp
How to install mcp in Claude Code?
For the hosted endpoint, run claude mcp add --transport http mcp https://mcp.sota.io/mcp. For local stdio transport, run claude mcp add sota-deploy-mcp -- npx -y @sota-io/mcp, then set the SOTA_API_KEY environment variable.
What does the mcp MCP server do?
It deploys web apps to sota.io PaaS on agent command, manages environment variables, rolls back versions, adds custom domains, and streams build logs.
Do I need an API key to use mcp?
Yes for stdio transport (Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf) — get it from the sota.io dashboard. For the hosted endpoint at mcp.sota.io (Claude Desktop, Claude.ai), OAuth handles auth and no key is required.
