Sidereon — Claude Code MCP server: features and setup
An MCP server for GNSS positioning, orbit work, and astrodynamics. Use it for satellite passes, RINEX-based solves, and orbital analysis.
Open on GitHubWhat Sidereon does
Sidereon exposes a Rust-based calculation engine to MCP clients. It can propagate satellite states from TLE and OMM data, compute passes and visibility, build ground tracks, solve GNSS positioning from RINEX observations, and transform between time scales and reference frames. The listed data formats include SP3, RTCM, RINEX, and EOP.
Its capabilities also cover RTK, PPP, DGNSS, RAIM, SBAS, covariance analysis, Kalman filtering, orbit determination, and satellite conjunction screening. Interfaces are provided for Rust, Python, C, Go, WebAssembly, and Elixir. This is a specialist MCP server; projects without GNSS, orbit, or geodesy work will have little use for its calculation set.
Sidereon is listed for Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Windsurf (Devin Desktop), Cline, and Zed. In Claude Code, add it as an MCP server through the MCP configuration.
What it helps with
- propagate a satellite orbit from TLE or OMM data
- calculate station passes and line-of-sight visibility
- solve a GNSS position from RINEX observations
- inspect covariance and error bounds for a fix
- screen satellite conjunctions and collision probability
Example prompts for the agent
- Propagate this satellite from its TLE and return the ground track.
- Solve a static GNSS position from the RINEX observations and include covariance.
- Find the next visible passes over this ground station.
