This server plans realistic maritime paths across the 2025 Eurostat network instead of drawing straight lines across continents. It accepts geographic coordinates or standard UN/LOCODE identifiers for roughly 1600 ports. Outputs arrive as GeoJSON LineString features with length in nautical miles or kilometers.
You can generate alternative routes or evaluate multi-stop itineraries. Specifying vessel speed in knots yields voyage duration in hours. The engine supports passage exclusions, such as bypassing Suez or the Bab-el-Mandeb strait. Canal draft thresholds trigger automated detours; exceeding 15.2 meters automatically excludes the Panama Canal.
Routing fails immediately with UnknownPortError if an unrecognised port code is passed. Because the routing graph ships directly with the package, calculations run locally without mandatory external network requests.
