QRX — Claude Code MCP server: what it does, how to install
Generates stylized, scan-tested QR codes from prompts and URLs. Returns print-ready graphics paired with hosted short links.
claude mcp add --transport http mcp https://qrx.codes/mcpWhat QRX does
QRX turns text prompts and target URLs into stylized QR codes for signage or packaging. The remote service renders the artwork and verifies that scanners decode the image before returning it. Each design routes through a hosted short URL at https://qrx.to/<id>.
The tools let the agent pull past generations and monitor remaining daily allowances. Paid plans allow redirecting an existing printed code to another link without a reprint.
Requests require OAuth sign-in or a secret key stored in QRX_API_KEY. Without credentials, the endpoint immediately returns HTTP 401.
What it helps with
- generate art-styled QR codes for signage and packaging
- verify code readability before sending files to print
- update destination URLs on existing codes without reprinting
- track remaining generation balance for the current day
Example prompts for the agent
- Generate a QR code for
https://example.com/menustyled as a watercolour café street. - Show the most recent QR codes created on my account.
- Check my remaining generation balance for today.
