Postbase — Claude Code MCP server: what it does, how to install
Lets your coding agent queue posts and threads for X, LinkedIn, Bluesky and Mastodon through Postbase, without opening the scheduler.
claude mcp add --transport http postbase https://mcp.postbase.so/mcpWhat Postbase does
Postbase is an open-source social scheduler, and this server hands its API to your agent. The agent can save drafts or queue single posts and threads for X, LinkedIn, Bluesky and Mastodon. Timing goes in as scheduled_at (ISO 8601 with an offset) or schedule_in_minutes, and channel_bodies gives each network its own wording.
Other tools cover the rest of the loop. get_post reports status and live URL per channel, retry_post resends where delivery failed, and get_analytics returns impressions, likes, comments, shares and saves. An idempotency_key keeps a retried call from publishing twice. Media comes from your library by id, or from a public https link through add_media.
There are two ways in. The hosted endpoint https://mcp.postbase.so/mcp signs you in with OAuth. The npm package @postbasehq/mcp requires a POSTBASE_API_KEY from the Developers section of your dashboard. TikTok posts made through create_post stay drafts, so publish those in the app.
What it helps with
- schedule a thread for a set time on several networks at once
- write separate copy for each channel in one request
- attach an image or video from the media library to a post
- find which channels a post missed and resend it
- compare impressions and likes across posts
Example prompts for the agent
- Use Postbase to schedule this thread on X and Bluesky for tomorrow morning
- List my scheduled posts in Postbase and cancel the latest one
- Pull Postbase analytics for yesterday's post and retry it on the channels where it failed

Questions about Postbase
How do I install Postbase in Claude Code?
Run claude mcp add --transport http postbase https://mcp.postbase.so/mcp. It signs in with OAuth, so no API key is needed.
What does Postbase do?
It gives your agent tools to schedule posts and threads on X, LinkedIn, Bluesky and Mastodon, plus edit, cancel, retry and read analytics.
Do I need an API key, and can I use my own Postbase instance?
The hosted endpoint needs no key. The @postbasehq/mcp package requires POSTBASE_API_KEY, and POSTBASE_API_URL points it at your own instance; the default is https://www.postbase.so/api/v1.
