playwritermcp-mcp — Claude Code MCP server: browser sessions, logs
A paid remote MCP server that hands your agent tools for browser sessions and lets you pull the session log afterwards.
claude mcp add --transport http playwritermcp-mcp https://playwritermcp.clauxel.com/mcpWhat playwritermcp-mcp does
Four tools ship with it: session_open, run_stateful_snippet, read_page_state and export_session_log. An agent opens a session, runs a snippet that keeps its state, reads back what the page looks like, then exports the log. Everything comes back as structured JSON, and there is a public server card plus usage receipts.
This is hosted, not something you run locally. Production calls need a bearer token issued on the product site — without one, requests to /mcp are refused. Your MCP client has to speak Streamable HTTP remote servers.
The repository holds public documentation and directory-submission notes; the production code is private. So you cannot patch or extend how the tools behave — the hosted service decides that. Teams that need a paper trail of what an agent did in a browser get it here. Anyone wanting to tinker locally without paying does not.
What it helps with
- open a browser session an agent can keep using across calls
- run a snippet inside an already open session
- read the current page state as structured data
- export the session log as evidence of what ran
- collect usage receipts for an audit
Example prompts for the agent
- Open a session with
session_openand show me the response - Run a snippet in the current session that reads the page title
- Export the session log with
export_session_log
