What PapersFlow does

PapersFlow gives an agent tools for literature search, paper retrieval, citation verification, and related-paper discovery. It can also build citation graphs, inspect neighboring papers, and expand a graph with further connections.

The service runs as a hosted MCP endpoint at https://doxa.papersflow.ai/mcp. OAuth handles account access, so the first connection opens a sign-in flow. Public research tools are available after authentication; some authenticated tools depend on a PapersFlow plan.

Claude Code can add the server with one command. Gemini CLI has a repository extension, while Cline uses a remote-server configuration. OAuth must be completed before the connection can operate.

What it helps with

  • find papers for a research topic
  • check citations in a draft
  • discover related publications
  • map a paper’s citation graph
  • expand a graph with nearby papers

Example prompts for the agent

  • Use PapersFlow to find papers on this topic and collect the main sources.
  • Check the citations in this review and find related publications.
  • Build a citation graph for this paper, then expand it with neighboring papers.
