What openfuse-mcp does

This MCP server organizes agent working memory around standard directory layouts instead of proprietary cloud silos. Agents record active context in CONTEXT.md, keep reusable data in knowledge/, and archive completed blocks using openfuse compact. Time-sensitive notes can carry validity metadata, allowing expired records to prune automatically during compaction.

Inter-agent communication runs on public-key cryptography. Setup creates an Ed25519 signing pair and an age encryption pair inside .keys/ with restrictive chmod 600 permissions. Private keys never leave the host. Without an age public key for the recipient on file, outbox dispatches fall back to plaintext delivery.

What it helps with

  • persist agent state across CLI sessions using flat markdown files
  • send signed and encrypted messages between peer agents
  • clean up completed task blocks by archiving them to history/
  • coordinate shared workspaces with access levels and broadcast channels

Example prompts for the agent

  • Record the latest test results to CONTEXT.md using openfuse
  • Send an encrypted dispatch to agent bob with the path to findings.md
  • Prune stale validity windows and compact finished items into history
