What opendesignguard-mcp does

opendesignguard-mcp gives an AI agent tools to inspect design-system compliance, describe mismatches, and recommend changes. It can also create a design receipt and export an audit, giving reviewers evidence of the checks. Use it when you need a record alongside the review.

The service runs remotely and connects through Streamable HTTP. Production calls require a bearer token obtained after selecting a plan and creating or requesting an API token. Without that token, production requests will not run. The public repository contains documentation for the hosted service, not its production implementation.

What it helps with

  • check a project against its design system
  • explain a mismatch between an interface and design rules
  • get a proposed fix for a design issue
  • create a review receipt and export an audit

Example prompts for the agent

  • Check this project against our design system and explain any mismatches.
  • Suggest a fix for the design issue you found.
  • Create a design receipt and export the audit for review.
