What Lowtoxgear Scanner does

Lowtoxgear Scanner searches Australian product records by EAN, UPC, or JAN barcode. Its catalogue covers more than 21,000 products and 237 source-cited chemical rules; 17 health-condition tags can affect which flags appear.

The MCP server passes requests to the existing scanner backend over JSON-RPC. Its tools cover barcode scans, catalogue statistics, condition-based guide samples, resource lookup, and submitting a product missing from the catalogue. It uses HTTP and needs no API key. A barcode lookup may not return a match if the product is outside the Australian catalogue.

What it helps with

  • look up a product using its barcode
  • surface chemical rules relevant to product ingredients
  • check flags associated with a health condition
  • submit details for a product missing from the catalogue

Example prompts for the agent

  • Look up barcode 9300605000018 and explain the product flags.
  • Check this barcode against the catalogue and list the relevant chemical rules.
  • Show scanner guides related to products for people with eczema.
