kie-mcp — Claude Code MCP server: image, video and audio generation
Wires kie.ai into your coding agent so it can generate images, video and audio from chat, picking a model for the job and showing what it costs.
claude mcp add --env KIE_API_KEY=<KIE_API_KEY> --env KIE_PROJECT_ROOT=<KIE_PROJECT_ROOT> --transport stdio kie-mcp -- npx -y kie-mcpWhat kie-mcp does
kie-mcp is an MCP server that sits on top of the kie.ai API. Your agent gets a catalogue of image, video and audio models, and each entry carries a credit and USD price, notes on where the model is weak, prompt tactics and comparisons against rivals. Ask which option is cheapest for lip sync and it answers.
Version 5.0 added vertical profiles. There are ten of them, covering architecture and interiors, game assets, advertising, product photography, branding, short-form social video, audio branding and more. A profile hands back the questions a specialist would ask, a routing table per deliverable with live costs, and prompt formulas. In Claude the profiles double as slash commands, for instance /kie-art:architecture.
You need Node.js 18+ and a kie.ai API key. Two transports are supported: stdio for local use and HTTP Streamable for remote clients. HTTP mode wants a bearer token and binds to 127.0.0.1 by default. Guard that token like a password, since whoever holds it can burn your kie credits and pull media off the server's disk.
What it helps with
- generate a text-heavy layout image without testing models by hand
- turn a scene description into a short clip
- find a model that lip-syncs to an existing audio track
- upscale footage to 4K
- recolour a wall in a room photo
Example prompts for the agent
- Generate a brand presentation board for a perfume launch
- Lip-sync this audio to my character image
