gossipcat — Claude Code MCP server: what it does, how to install
Orchestrates multi-agent consensus code reviews by cross-checking findings against actual source lines. Filters false alarms before you read them.
claude mcp add --env GOOGLE_API_KEY=<GOOGLE_API_KEY> --env GOSSIPCAT_PORT=<GOSSIPCAT_PORT> --transport stdio gossipcat -- npx -y gossipcatWhat gossipcat does
A single AI reviewer often reports bugs that do not exist. gossipcat coordinates parallel agents so each verifies peer reports against real file:line locations in your repository. Fake issues get eliminated immediately.
The orchestrator tracks accuracy metrics for every participant and routes tasks toward historically reliable agents. When an agent fails repeatedly in a category, the system writes markdown skill files from past mistakes to adjust future prompts. It also serves a live browser dashboard and a web chat bridge.
Running npx -y gossipcat requires Node 22 or newer on your system. A baseline two-agent setup runs directly on your editor subscription without extra API keys, while connecting external relay models requires their respective tokens.
What it helps with
- filter out hallucinated code review comments before inspection
- verify reported line numbers mechanically against your source files
- route review tasks based on agent accuracy metrics
- generate persistent failure-recovery markdown skill files
Example prompts for the agent
- Form a gossipcat review group for this repository
- Run a consensus code review on my latest git diff
- Inspect recent file edits and launch the gossipcat monitor
