FireCMS Cloud — Claude Code MCP server for Firestore CMS
Wires a Firebase project into FireCMS Cloud from your agent: reads what is already in Firestore, builds collections, and manages schemas, users and project settings.
claude mcp add --transport http mcp https://api.firecms.co/mcpWhat FireCMS Cloud does
The server exposes FireCMS Cloud to an AI assistant. It lists Firestore root collections, walks into subcollections, drafts a schema from sampled documents and saves it into the project. The same toolset covers collection properties, project config such as name, brand colours, default locale, text search and entity history, plus project users and their roles.
Two deployment shapes. The hosted one answers at https://api.firecms.co/mcp and signs clients in with OAuth in the browser, so there is nothing to install. The local one runs over stdio via npx @firecms/mcp-server and authenticates with your Google account, which is why it can also switch on APIs, create the Firestore database and connect a project end to end. Tokens are shared with the FireCMS CLI at ~/.firecms/tokens.json.
Every write tool needs the admin role on the target project; reads are open to any authenticated member. Turn on Firebase Authentication in the Firebase console before connecting a project — it is the one prerequisite with no API behind it. Skip the access rule that connect_project_to_firecms installs and the CMS shows nothing but a missing-security-rules message, while the tools stay quiet: they read through the backend service account, which bypasses those rules.
What it helps with
- turn an existing Firestore dataset into ready collections
- preview a collection schema without saving anything
- grant or revoke a role for a project member
- rename a project and swap its brand colours
- enable Google Cloud APIs and create a Firestore database from the agent
Example prompts for the agent
- List the root collections and draft schemas for the ones that are not mapped yet
- Preview the inferred schema for the
orderscollection, do not save it - Give
