Fidensa — Claude Code MCP server: what it does, how to install
Connects AI assistants to an independent certification registry to evaluate tool trust scores, verify code integrity hashes, and find vetted extensions.
claude mcp add mcp-server -e FIDENSA_API_KEY=<FIDENSA_API_KEY> -- npx -y @fidensa/mcp-serverWhat Fidensa does
This server links coding agents directly to the Fidensa evaluation catalog over MCP. When an agent plans to call an unfamiliar skill, sub-agent, hook, or MCP server, it can inspect official verification grades beforehand. It helps prevent running compromised tools.
Four operations function without registration: status checks (check_certification), catalog queries (search_capabilities), hash matching (verify_file), and submitting outcome logs (report_experience). However, side-by-side evaluations with compare_capabilities, cryptographic inspection of .cert.json signatures, and full contract downloads require a free FIDENSA_API_KEY. Without this token, multi-tool comparisons remain unavailable.
What it helps with
- verify trust ratings of external tools before execution
- validate local file checksums against certified records
- discover certified alternatives to unvetted utilities
- compare trust metrics between two similar tools
- submit execution telemetry reports to update reliability records
Example prompts for the agent
- Inspect the trust tier of
mcp-server-filesystemusingcheck_certificationbefore running it. - Find verified SQLite utilities by querying
search_capabilities. - Run
compare_capabilitiesto benchmark trust scores betweenmcp-server-sqliteandmcp-server-better-sqlite3.

Questions about Fidensa
How do I install Fidensa in Claude Code?
Run claude mcp add --env FIDENSA_API_KEY=<FIDENSA_API_KEY> --transport stdio fidensa -- npx -y @fidensa/mcp-server in your terminal. You can drop the environment flag if you do not need authenticated endpoints.
What does Fidensa do?
It gives agents structured access to verification records for MCP servers, skills, and configuration files. Assistants can look up trust scores, inspect digital signatures, and pick reliable alternatives.
Which tools work without an API key?
You can freely run check_certification, search_capabilities, verify_file, and report_experience. Features like compare_capabilities and signature verification require setting FIDENSA_API_KEY.
