EnvKit — Claude Code MCP server: setup and features
EnvKit lets an AI assistant manage a local development stack, from creating Laravel sites and databases to diagnosing service startup issues.
Open on GitHubWhat EnvKit does
EnvKit includes an MCP server in its desktop app. An assistant can use it to create a Laravel site with a database or investigate why MySQL will not start, including problems caused by a port conflict or a broken configuration.
To connect Claude Code, open Settings → AI in EnvKit and click Set up AI clients. The server starts off disabled, accepts connections on 127.0.0.1 only, and uses a bearer token. It runs only while the EnvKit app is open, so the desktop app is required.
The server gives the assistant access to EnvKit’s local projects and services, including PHP and Node stacks and databases such as MySQL and PostgreSQL. This is an app-integrated MCP server, not a standalone package; configure it from EnvKit’s AI settings.
What it helps with
- create a Laravel site with its own database
- diagnose why MySQL fails to start
- resolve a local service port conflict
- manage a development stack through an AI assistant
Example prompts for the agent
- Create a Laravel site named shop with a separate database.
- Check why MySQL will not start and fix the issue.
- Inspect the local service logs and find the cause of the failure.
