CleverTech — Claude Code MCP server for Canadian data
Connect an AI agent to Canadian public data on property, permits, zoning and business records. Useful for property lookups and location-based checks.
claude mcp add clevertech-mcp-server -e CLEVERTECH_API_KEY=<CLEVERTECH_API_KEY> -- uvx clevertech-mcp-serverWhat CleverTech does
CleverTech exposes Canadian government and municipal open data through MCP tools. An agent can search property assessments by address or roll number, request a consolidated property report, find building permits and check zoning by address or GPS coordinates. A city-listing tool helps identify available coverage.
The server also converts GPS coordinates to and from Dominion Land Survey, looks up federal corporations and resolves coordinates to addresses. It runs with uvx clevertech-mcp-server and requires the CLEVERTECH_API_KEY environment variable. The free tier allows 50 API calls per day after sign-in, so the key and daily allowance matter for repeated lookups.
What it helps with
- look up a property assessment by address
- assemble a consolidated report for a property
- search building permits by applicant or address
- check zoning from GPS coordinates
- convert GPS coordinates to Dominion Land Survey
Example prompts for the agent
- Find the property assessment for
123 Main Street. - Check zoning for GPS coordinates
53.5, -113.5. - Convert these GPS coordinates to Dominion Land Survey.
