cituna-mcp — Claude Code MCP server: what it does, how to install
Connects your agent to AI engine citations for your brand and joins the findings with Google Search Console data.
claude mcp add --env CITUNA_API_KEY=<CITUNA_API_KEY> --env CITUNA_API_URL=<CITUNA_API_URL> --transport stdio cituna-mcp -- npx -y cituna-mcpWhat cituna-mcp does
This server brings AI visibility metrics directly to your coding assistant. The platform queries 7 generative engines daily. It checks ChatGPT and Perplexity. Your agent sees exact citations and mentions alongside competing brands.
The integration provides 31 tools. That includes utilities for reading metrics and applying updates. It correlates AI answer receipts with Google Search Console traffic. Your agent can spot underperforming pages and schedule revisions.
The remote endpoint runs over Streamable HTTP at https://mcp.cituna.com/mcp. Running locally with npx -y cituna-mcp requires Node 20 or newer. MCP access is excluded from the free trial. You need a paid plan to use it.
What it helps with
- track brand citations across generative search engines
- identify competitors appearing in AI answers instead of your brand
- cross-reference AI search visibility with Google Search Console impressions
- queue content updates based on search gaps
Example prompts for the agent
- Check how our website ranks across AI engines for our primary prompts
- Show what Perplexity answered for our target buyer query and what sites it cited
- Find queries with high Google Search Console impressions where AI engines never cite us
