che-apple-mail-mcp — Claude Code MCP server: setup
This MCP server connects an AI agent to Apple Mail for SQLite-backed search, .emlx parsing, attachment work, and batch email operations.
Open on GitHubWhat che-apple-mail-mcp does
che-apple-mail-mcp lets an agent work with Apple Mail through MCP. It searches by subject, sender, recipient, and date, reads raw headers and message content, handles attachments, and manages mailboxes. The server uses a native Swift binary, an SQLite search path, and an .emlx parser.
The Claude Code plugin also ships the /archive-mail command family, confirmation rules for destructive actions, and a hook that checks for a stale binary. Full Disk Access is required for the fast SQLite path and batch_export_emails_markdown; without it, the server may read little or nothing. An MCP-only build uses Swift 5.9, and a self-built binary may lose TCC permissions after rebuilds unless it has a Developer ID signature.
What it helps with
- search emails by sender, subject, or date
- inspect raw headers and message bodies
- export a group of emails to Markdown
- manage mailboxes, rules, and signatures
Example prompts for the agent
- Find messages from
[email protected]on the requested date and show their subjects. - Export the matching messages with
batch_export_emails_markdown. - Inspect the email attachments and save the requested file.
