What brainkb does

This tool connects coding assistants to BrainKB, a knowledge base housing structured neuroscience graphs. Instead of reading through disparate publications, your assistant queries the graph directly. It fetches connected scientific concepts on demand.

The server operates over HTTP as a hosted endpoint. You do not need to clone the repository or configure a local runtime. The assistant connects straight to https://mcp.brainkb.org/mcp. Without outbound access to this URL, queries will fail immediately.

What it helps with

  • query entities and connections in BrainKB knowledge graphs
  • retrieve structured neuroscience research data via the assistant
  • access the knowledge base without maintaining a local service

Example prompts for the agent

  • Search BrainKB for synaptic plasticity pathways and related structures
  • Query the BrainKB graph for hippocampal cell types
