Bagel — Claude Code MCP server: analysis and install
Bagel lets an agent inspect robotics, drone, and IoT data through natural-language requests. Use it to audit logs or keep important edge-data windows.
Open on GitHubWhat Bagel does
Bagel connects an MCP client to robotics, drone, and IoT data. An agent can inspect ROS 1 and ROS 2 bags, flight logs, CAN / MDF4, CSV, JSON, Parquet, and ROS text logs. Calculations run as DuckDB SQL queries, and Bagel exposes those queries for review.
Its edge-reduction pipeline takes an event description, detects matching periods, keeps the relevant windows, and drops the rest. The server covers recorded data and live MQTT. For Claude Code, the setup uses uv, the bagel-mcp[ros] package, and stdio transport.
Recorded data does not require Docker or a separate ROS installation, while ROS formats use the ros extra. Bagel is listed for Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Windsurf (Devin Desktop), Cline, and Zed.
What it helps with
- inspect a ROS bag or flight log
- check a sensor condition across messages
- review the SQL behind a calculation
- keep windows around a named event
- reduce data at the edge
Example prompts for the agent
- Analyze
~/logs/run_42.mcapand list the suspicious readings. - Check whether the IMU overheats in
flight.ulg, then show the DuckDB SQL query. - Keep 10 seconds around each hard-braking event in the recorded data and describe the result before running it.
How to install Bagel

Questions about Bagel
How do I install Bagel in Claude Code?
Install uv, then run claude mcp add bagel -- uvx --from "bagel-mcp[ros]" bagel-mcp --transport stdio.
What does Bagel do?
Bagel gives an agent access to robotics, drone, and IoT data analysis. It runs calculations through DuckDB SQL, shows the queries, and can select data windows around an event description.
Which data formats does Bagel support?
It supports ROS 1 and ROS 2 bags, flight logs, CAN / MDF4, CSV, JSON, Parquet, and ROS text logs. The description also includes live MQTT.
