timeline-compressor — Claude Code command: compress project timelines
Compresses a real-world timeline into fast simulation cycles so you can test decisions and risks sooner. Useful before you commit to a plan.
npx claude-code-templates@latest --command simulation/timeline-compressorWhat timeline-compressor does
The command takes a timeline type — product development, market adoption, business transformation or competitive response — and maps its phases. Then it looks for parts that can be shortened without losing the point, and picks an acceleration factor. Critical milestones and dependencies stay in place.
Six steps sit inside: timeline architecture, compression strategy, a rapid iteration engine, confidence management, scenario multiplication and decision integration. The advanced side covers Monte Carlo acceleration and adaptive compression ratios. Tooling is plain: Read, Write, Edit and WebSearch.
The argument sets the timeline type: --product-development, --market-adoption, --business-transformation or --competitive-response. Skip it and the command has nothing to compress. You get back a timeline analysis with acceleration strategies, confidence assessments and an implementation roadmap.
What it helps with
- rehearse a market launch before the real one
- find phases you can shorten without dropping a milestone
- size up a decision's risks before committing
- compare several responses to a competitor's move
- split a business transformation into parallel cycles
Example prompts for the agent
- /timeline-compressor --product-development
- /timeline-compressor --market-adoption
- /timeline-compressor --competitive-response

Questions about timeline-compressor
How do I install timeline-compressor in Claude?
Through the templates CLI: npx claude-code-templates@latest --command simulation/timeline-compressor. The command file lands in .claude/commands/timeline-compressor.md.
What does timeline-compressor do?
It compresses a real-world timeline into fast simulation cycles: mapping phases, calibrating acceleration, multiplying scenarios and returning a roadmap with confidence assessments.
Which timeline types does it support?
Four: --product-development, --market-adoption, --business-transformation and --competitive-response. You pass the type as an argument.
