What issue-triage does

The command runs a structured six-step workflow directly inside Claude Code. It reads issue metadata, categorizes requests into bugs or features, and scores priority based on severity. It also defines label taxonomies and response expectations.

Context discovery relies on the Bash tool to inspect local repository details. The prompt invokes gh repo view and pipes gh issue list into jq to inspect open tickets.

If gh or jq is missing from the environment, repository detection fails and outputs fallback placeholders. You can direct the scope with command flags: restrict processing to GitHub issues or Linear tasks.

What it helps with

  • Classify incoming bugs and feature requests
  • Score issue priority using severity and effort metrics
  • Route backlog tickets to teams based on expertise
  • Assign consistent labels and define SLA response targets

Example prompts for the agent

  • /issue-triage --github-issues
  • /issue-triage --linear-tasks
  • /issue-triage --team-assignment

## Current Triage Context

- Repository: !`gh repo view --json nameWithOwner -q .nameWithOwner 2>/dev/null || echo "No repo context"`
- Open issues: !`gh issue list --state open --limit 1 --json number | jq length 2>/dev/null || echo "Check manually"`
- Linear teams: Available Linear teams and project assignments for routing
- Triage backlog: Current volume and age of untriaged issues

## Task

Execute intelligent issue analysis with automated triage and priority assignment:

**Triage Scope**: Use $ARGUMENTS to focus on GitHub issues, Linear tasks, priority analysis, or team assignment optimization

**Triage Framework**:
