Revamped Resorts World NYC boosts revenues for Genting’s US division by 166 per cent

The launch of full-scale table gaming at Resorts World NYC in April 2026 lifted Genting Malaysia's US division revenue by 166 per cent. Group revenue rose 33 per cent, but the cost of opening the new gaming floor crashed quarterly profit from $98.4 million to $6.7 million.

Resorts World NYC relaunched on 28 April with 242 table games and 2,500 slots — previously the property operated video terminals only. In July the operator added another 1,400 slots. The floor is New York's first live-table venue, so the jump was sharp. Resorts World Las Vegas revenue for the same period rose just 1 per cent to $181 million, confirming that NYC drove the gain.

Asia and Europe moved the other way. Revenue at the flagship Resorts World Genting in Malaysia fell 1 per cent to $438 million. UK and Egypt assets also dropped 1 per cent to $125 million. Genting attributed the decline to Middle East geopolitics, higher airfares and cautious player spend.

In July 2026 the company began the next phase of NYC development — construction of a full integrated resort with hotel and entertainment. The operator plans to use synergy between RWNYC and Resorts World Catskills to optimise marketing and operating costs. For the US market it's a signal: Genting is betting on New York as its main growth asset.
