ACMA blocks two more illegal gambling websites in Australia

Australia's communications regulator ACMA has added Casea and Crown96 to its blocklist of illegal gambling operators. Both sites violated the Interactive Gambling Act 2001, which bars offshore operators from serving Australian customers without a local licence.

Site blocking has been one of ACMA's enforcement tools since 2019, when it issued its first blocking notice in November. Since 2017, when the government tightened offshore rules, more than 230 illegal services have withdrawn from the Australian market.

ACMA warns that unlicensed sites may appear legitimate but lack the consumer protections required of licensed operators. Australians using such services risk losing their funds. Operators and affiliates can verify a bookmaker or casino's Australian licence through the regulator's online register.

For affiliates and media buyers, the message is clear: traffic to unlicensed offers in Australia remains under active enforcement. The regulator's approach is systematic, and the blocklist continues to grow.
