Galaxy Entertainment Group reported revenue of HK$11.8bn ($1.50bn) in the second quarter of 2026, down 2% year-on-year and 5% from the previous quarter. Adjusted EBITDA fell 5% on both bases to HK$3.38bn ($431m).
Negative gaming luck cut EBITDA by around HK$21m ($2.7m). After normalisation, EBITDA stood at HK$3.40bn ($433m) — up 8% year-on-year but still down 5% from the first quarter.
GEG chairman Francis Lui attributed the drop to the FIFA World Cup, which kicked off on 11 June. The tournament diverted player attention and intensified competition from sports betting. By the end of June gaming revenue in Macau had recovered, and momentum continued through August, he said.
Macau market GGR in the second quarter held flat year-on-year at HK$59.2bn ($7.54bn) but fell 7% quarter-on-quarter.
