Australian betting operator Tabcorp Holdings will acquire BetMakers Technology Group for $267 million. The deal is designed to accelerate the modernisation of Tabcorp's technology infrastructure by drawing on BetMakers' development work over the past two years.
BetMakers is an ASX-listed company that builds B2B wagering solutions: betting infrastructure, data and analytics, racing content, and pari-mutuel technology. Tabcorp expects the BetMakers assets to add scale to its international business and open new growth channels. The transaction is scheduled to close in Q3 FY27 subject to regulatory approvals.
Tabcorp CEO Gillon McLachlan said BetMakers has completed a major transformation over two years and assembled a strong engineering team. Access to those resources will speed up the refresh of Tabcorp's product line, particularly in media and the pari-mutuel platform. He added that combining BetMakers' platforms with Tabcorp's content rights and customer base will create a differentiated offering with solid financial returns.
BetMakers CEO Jake Henson said both companies share the goal of building a global wagering and media business. The combination of Tabcorp's rights, content and relationships with BetMakers' platforms, data and B2B services should deliver a more integrated market proposition.
Tabcorp is midway through its own strategic transformation, and the BetMakers acquisition is intended to accelerate that process.
