Malta-based Wildz Group said it has secured a five-year Finnish gambling licence from the National Police Board of Finland (NPB). It called itself the first operator to announce approval before the market opens. The regulator has not confirmed it.
The licence will take effect with Finland's regulated online market on 1 July 2027. Wildz Group operates Wildz, Blingi, Caxino, Chipz, Spinz, Tuplaus and Wheelz, plus Wildz Sports. Chief executive Sam Brown said the group is preparing for July 2027 and aims to offer Finnish players a safe and entertaining product.
Finland is moving from the Veikkaus monopoly to licensing part of the online market. Applications have been taken since March 2026. Veikkaus keeps exclusivity for some products while separate online segments open to competition.
Demand is high. GamblingNews reported around 75 applicants, while Finnish media put the figure closer to 80. LeoVegas and Betsson have also flagged interest. The fee is €29,000 per application. The NPB is still reviewing filings, so more approvals may be announced before launch. For operators and affiliates, the timeline is set. Denmark remains the regional reference.
