Stake Brasil has secured a preliminary injunction allowing it to continue operating in Brazil until October 25, 2026. The 9th Federal Civil Court of São Paulo granted partial relief against provisional measure MP 1,394/2026, blocking authorities from shutting down or redirecting the stake.bet domain and barring sanctions against the operator while it works within the approved framework.
Stake is the first licensed operator in Brazil to obtain a ruling of this kind. The company says it met all regulatory requirements, paid the licensing fee and committed substantial capital before receiving authorisation. A company representative said the decision affirms legal certainty and stable rules for operators under state supervision.
MP 1,394/2026 tightened requirements for betting operators across the country. Licensed traffic in Brazil dropped 74% after the measure took effect, according to market data. Stake says it continues to meet all obligations imposed by the provisional measure and remains in contact with the regulator.
The operator argues consumer protection works only in a regulated environment with clear rules, responsible-gaming tools and state oversight. It maintains its legal standing cannot be cancelled without due process after fulfilling all formal licensing requirements.
