Sportradar sells Atrium Sports for $170 million to ‘optimise and streamline’ business

Sportradar Group AG has agreed to sell its Atrium Sports division for $170 million in cash. The deal was announced Wednesday and is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to standard conditions.

The sale is part of a strategy to concentrate on core products: betting, gaming and media. Sportradar acquired Atrium Sports in 2021 and is now divesting the asset to simplify its structure and focus on priorities. The buyer has not been disclosed.

The transaction is expected to deliver value accretion: on an EBITDA multiple basis, it is valued at twice Sportradar's current market capitalisation. CEO Carsten Koerl said the deal will optimise the business and strengthen the balance sheet, freeing capital for investment.

Sportradar is retaining several Atrium technologies: cameras for automated video production, auto-graphics systems, certain computer-vision solutions and competition-management products. Revenue from those assets remains with the company.

The sale coincides with Sportradar's expansion into prediction markets. In recent months the company has signed multi-year contracts with Polymarket and Kalshi. On the second-quarter earnings call, Koerl said partnerships with prediction-market operators open new revenue streams — data, odds, engagement tools and marketing. He noted that low latency and deep data are critical in this segment, giving Sportradar a competitive edge.

Shares rose modestly following the announcement.
