Sportradar announces agreement for the divestiture of coaching and scouting business of Synergy Sports to Teamworks Innovations

Sportradar is selling the coaching and scouting arm of Synergy Sports to Teamworks Innovations for $170 million in cash. The buyer specialises in software for sports organisations.

Synergy Sports provides team analytics, primarily for baseball and basketball. The sale lets Sportradar focus on betting, gaming and media. The company is keeping parts of the tech stack — automated video production systems, graphics, computer vision and competition management products. Those assets are already integrated into the core business and generate revenue.

CEO Carsten Koerl said the deal streamlines the structure, strengthens the balance sheet and frees up capital for priority areas. Synergy moves to an operator focused on clubs and athletes, a logical fit for the platform's next phase.

The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026 after standard conditions are met. Sportradar said it will ensure a smooth transition for clients, partners and staff.
