Google has moved Display Ads into the Demand Gen campaign format. Advertisers can now manage Google Display Network (GDN) placements through a single Demand Gen interface while retaining access to 2 million sites, videos and apps across the network.
Demand Gen runs on Google's visual surfaces: YouTube, Discover, Gmail and Google Maps. GDN is now part of that roster. Advertisers can choose to serve creatives exclusively on the Display Network or use all channels at once. Google says campaign management will be simpler, with features announced at Google Marketing Live.
According to Google, adding GDN to Demand Gen delivers an average ROI lift of 9.5%. Food delivery service GoFood cut CPA by 24% and raised conversion volume by 19% after switching to the new format.
Migration will run through 2027. Google will release a campaign transfer tool and post updates in the Google Ads Help Centre.
