How to use it
- Open the page: the weekday is already on screen, taken from your device clock.
- For another day, pick it in Another date — the weekday, the week number and the working-day verdict follow it.
- Copy the answer copies just the weekday.
Weekend and working day
Saturday and Sunday count as the weekend here, and the answer turns green on those two days. That is the plainest reading and the one most of the world shares, but it is not universal: a working week runs Sunday to Thursday in much of the Gulf, and Friday is the short day in several countries. Public holidays are not considered at all — the page answers which weekday it is, not whether your employer expects you.
The week number follows ISO 8601, so Monday starts the week and week 1 holds 4 January. Pick a date in December and you may see week 1 of the next year, which is correct under that standard rather than a glitch.
Why look it up at all
- After a holiday stretch, when the days have blurred.
- To check which weekday a date in the past or the future lands on — a deadline, a birthday, a flight.
- To confirm a contract date before signing it.

What day of the week is it today?
The large word at the top of the page. It comes from your own device clock, so it is right for your time zone, including just after midnight.
What weekday will a future date be?
Pick the date in the Another date field. The page shows its weekday, its ISO week number and whether it falls on a weekend.
Are public holidays taken into account?
No. The green highlight marks Saturday and Sunday only. A public holiday that falls on a Tuesday still shows as a working day here, because holiday calendars differ by country.
Does it work without a connection?
Yes, once the page has loaded. The weekday is computed in the tab from your system clock, with no request to any server.
