zapier-workflows — Claude Code skill: what it does, how to install
Stores Zapier webhook triggers and remembers MCP tool preferences in Claude Code across sessions. Useful for kicking off automated multi-step flows directly from the terminal.
npx claude-code-templates@latest --skill development/zapier-workflowsWhat zapier-workflows does
Zapier MCP provides access to thousands of individual actions, yet Claude resets its context between conversations and cannot trigger pre-configured Zapier routines on its own. This skill introduces a local memory layer using reference files such as references/mcp-patterns.md and references/zaps.md. Whenever you instruct Claude to prefer a specific spreadsheet or research tool, it updates those documents directly via file editing tools.
It also handles webhook-based automations by routing POST requests to your predefined Zapier endpoints. Because webhook URLs include secret authentication tokens directly in the URL string, saving them in local files means you must exclude .claude/ from Git commits or install the skill globally under ~/.claude/skills/.
What it helps with
- trigger multi-step Zapier workflows through webhook POST requests
- persist MCP action choices across independent terminal sessions
- keep a persistent catalog of Zap endpoints and usage guidelines
- teach Claude new tool rules through conversation without manual file edits
Example prompts for the agent
- Run my daily digest automation in Zapier
- Record new project expenses into Google Sheets instead of Notion
- Save this Zapier webhook URL to track inbound leads
