What vibe-review does

vibe-review examines the real diff together with applicable project instructions, acceptance criteria, and check results. It follows changed behavior into its callers and tests, then looks for concrete regressions, weak error handling, and assumptions that do not hold. Authorization and data-exposure risks are considered when the change makes them relevant.

Findings include a file and line, the trigger, the impact, and a suggested correction. The skill separates observed defects from missing proof and does not claim checks it did not run. Its permitted tools are Read, Glob, Grep, and Bash, so a runtime that cannot read the project or execute Bash will leave parts of the review unverified.

The review does not authorize unrelated edits or publication. When it finds no issues, it still reports remaining verification gaps.

What it helps with

  • compare a diff with acceptance criteria
  • trace changed behavior through callers and tests
  • spot missing error handling in modified code
  • check relevant authorization and data-exposure risks
  • separate proven defects from missing evidence

Example prompts for the agent

  • Review the current diff against the task requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Trace every changed behavior into its callers and tests, then report each finding with its file, line, trigger, impact, and correction.
  • Check the change for authorization or data-exposure risks, and distinguish observed defects from checks that were not run.

# Vibe Review

Read the actual diff, applicable instructions, acceptance criteria, and check results. Trace changed behavior into its callers and tests. Look for concrete regressions, missing error handling, incorrect assumptions, and relevant authorization or data exposure issues.

Report actionable findings with file/line, trigger, impact, and suggested correction. Distinguish demonstrated defects from missing evidence. Prioritize correctness and scope over cosmetic preferences. Do not claim independent checks unless you ran them. If there are no findings, say so and disclose remaining verification gaps. Review does not authorize unrelated edits or publication.
