vibe-agents — Claude Code skill: agent instructions setup
Turns agreed product and technical decisions into AGENTS.md and tool configuration. Useful once requirements are settled but the agent files are not written yet.
npx skills add KhazP/vibe-coding-prompt-template --skill vibe-agents -a claude-codeWhat vibe-agents does
The skill reads agreed requirements, technical decisions and the existing repository, then writes only stable, non-obvious guidance. It keeps progress in the project's memory or handoff file rather than in always-loaded rules.
A targeted AGENTS.md edit goes straight into the affected instructions. No installer, no fresh PRD, no full interview. For initial Vibe Workflow setup it uses the configured manifest paths, and when the vibeworkflow CLI is around it inspects npx vibeworkflow --dry-run --json and initializes within your authorization. Existing files stay put; replacement flags are for deliberate overwrites whose files you have already reviewed.
npx vibeworkflow doctor checks a CLI-generated setup, though it validates configuration rather than a working build or user journey. In a chat without filesystem access the skill works from docs/context-pack.md and the product decisions you supply, and it states missing template or context limits instead of inventing them. It will not widen tool permissions just to make setup convenient, so read what you are granting the agent.
What it helps with
- draft AGENTS.md from decisions already agreed on
- edit one instruction in an existing AGENTS.md without reinstalling
- split task-specific procedures into skills and load them on demand
- separate local implementation from external sends and production changes
- produce config files in a chat with no filesystem access
Example prompts for the agent
- create AGENTS.md from our agreed project decisions
- update the deploy instruction in AGENTS.md, leave the rest alone
- check the setup with npx vibeworkflow doctor

For a targeted AGENTS.md edit, update the affected instructions directly; do not require an installer, new PRD, or full interview. Keep progress in the project's memory/handoff file rather than the always-loaded rules. For initial Vibe Workflow setup, use the configured manifest paths. If the vibeworkflow CLI is available, inspect `npx vibeworkflow --dry-run --json` and initialize within the user's authorization. Preserve existing files; replacement flags are for intentional replacements whose affected files have been reviewed. The CLI installs files directly, not into a new templates/ directory. Fill relevant placeholders from known decisions. Keep task-specific procedures in skills or references and load them only when relevant. Distinguish local implementation from external sends, production changes, and new access. Do not enable broad tool permissions just to make setup convenient. Use `npx vibeworkflow doctor` for CLI-generated setup when available; it checks configuration, not a working build or user journey. In a chat without filesystem access, use the repository's docs/context-pack.md and supplied product decisions to produce separated files to save. State absent template/context limitations instead of inventing them. Continue into implementation only when that is part of the user's request.
