tavily-key-generator-proxy — Claude Code skill: setup and features
Automates Tavily API key generation with browser scripting and pools tokens behind a balancing FastAPI proxy.
npx skills add reason-machines/trending-skills --skill tavily-key-generator-proxy -a claude-codeWhat tavily-key-generator-proxy does
This skill guides the setup of a dual-part infrastructure: an account registrar and an API reverse proxy. The generator drives headless Firefox via Playwright to register accounts, solve Turnstile challenges, and complete email confirmation. Every free account provides 1,000 requests monthly.
The proxy server runs in Docker on port 9874, routing calls across all pooled tokens using round-robin. It exposes /api/search and /api/extract drop-in endpoints alongside a web dashboard at /console. When any key encounters 3 consecutive errors, the proxy disables it automatically.
Running the generator requires an external mail provider, either DuckMail or a Cloudflare Email Worker, plus a CapSolver token for captcha handling.
What it helps with
- Batch register Tavily accounts using headless browser automation
- Pool individual free monthly quotas into a unified API endpoint
- Route Tavily SDK traffic through a self-hosted load-balancing proxy
- Disable failing API tokens after repeated request errors
Example prompts for the agent
- Configure the Tavily key generator using DuckMail for verification
- Start the Tavily proxy container with Docker Compose on port 9874
- Route Python TavilyClient requests through my local proxy URL
