sumsub-check-skills-version — Claude Code skill: Sumsub version check
Compares your installed Sumsub agent-skills package against the published version and warns you when the skills are stale. Runs before Sumsub work.
npx skills add sumsub/agent-skills --skill sumsub-check-skills-version -a claude-codeWhat sumsub-check-skills-version does
The skill reads the version of your local @sumsub/agent-skills package and compares it with the one published in the public file https://api.sumsub.com/llms.txt. When your copy lags behind, you get a warning line with both version numbers and the update command. It runs through Bash and needs no credentials, since the file is open.
The flow has two stages. First check_version.sh works out the verdict and caches the rendered warning. Then you carry on with the Sumsub task at hand, and only as the last step render_headsup.sh prints that same line again. That ordering keeps the warning from being buried under task output. The check runs once per session, so repeated network calls are pointless.
Verdicts cover the usual cases: matching versions stay silent, while a patch, minor or major gap produces a warning, and so does a local build that is ahead of the published one. If the remote file cannot be reached or parsed, the skill stays quiet and does not block you. It never performs the update itself — you run npx skills add sumsub/agent-skills --all on your own.
What it helps with
- find out that your local Sumsub skills have fallen behind
- get a warning before a stale package returns wrong results
- compare the
@sumsub/agent-skillsversion against the canonical one - check once per session without hitting the network again
- tell a local dev build apart from the published release
Example prompts for the agent
- Check whether my Sumsub skills are current before you create an applicant
- Verify the Sumsub agent-skills version first, then request the check
- Is the Sumsub skills package I have installed the latest one?
