summarize-interview — Claude Code skill: structured interview analysis
This skill transforms an interview transcript into a structured report with Jobs to Be Done, satisfaction signals, and action items. Saves time parsing recordings and helps organize insights for product discovery.
npx skills add phuryn/pm-skills --skill summarize-interview -a claude-codeWhat summarize-interview does
The skill reads an uploaded interview file (text, PDF, or transcribed audio) and fills a template with four sections: the customer's current solution, what they like, pain points, unexpected findings, and next steps. Output is a markdown document ready for archiving or sharing with your team.
The skill follows the Jobs to Be Done framework. For each pain point, it captures what job the current tool doesn't solve, how critical it is, and the customer's satisfaction level. Language in the report stays plain and jargon-free so anyone on the team can follow it.
Install via npx skills add for each platform separately. The skill lives in your platform's config folder (.claude/skills, .cursor/skills, and so on). After setup, call it as a slash command.
What it helps with
- extract customer jobs from unstructured conversation
- consolidate satisfaction signals and pain points into one document
- generate action items from an interview
- save interviews in a format your team can analyze
Example prompts for the agent
- Here's the interview transcript with Jane. Run /summarize-interview to analyze it.
- I attached a PDF recording of the customer interview. Use the skill to break it down.
- This is the transcribed audio from our last user interview. Structure it using the template.
